AUTHOR PRESENTATIONS AND PROGRAMS –Plan and execute 3 author visits for March into Reading Month. Coordinate with authors and school administration, managing scheduling, budget, and day-of logistics.

BOOK FAIR –Support fall preparation and lead the annual March Book Fair. Oversee daily
operations.
CALDECOTT BOOK CLUB (1st Grade) – 1st grade parents; Coordinate 3 book club sessions per year
(fall, winter, spring). Each session is held after school from 3-4pm and includes a read-aloud of
one or two books, followed by a related craft or activity.

CLASS PARENTS – Assign Class Parents at the start of the school year (3 parents per class, including
one Lead Class Parent).
CLASS PHOTOS – Coordinate school photos for all students. Provide all class photos, 6th grade class
photo and faculty photo to the Memory Book committee.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH – Lead community service initiatives that foster awareness and support for those in need. Responsibilities include coordinating the November Turkey Trot by managing advertising, partnerships with Center for Food Action/Girls Scouts and a five-day donation effort in November; while identifying additional outreach opportunities throughout the year.

CURIOUS KIDS CLUB – Organize and host a variety of learning and fun hands-on experiences for the
students; Plan 3 sessions per year (fall, winter, spring), each held one day after school from 3-4pm. Sessions can be cultural, STEAM related, etc. to pique students’ curiosity.
ENVIRONMENTAL – Coordinate and lead 2-3 environmental or recycling initiatives throughout the year (i.e. Halloween costume collection and redistribution, Earth Day, etc.).
GIFTS – Select and purchase gifts on behalf of the PTA (i.e. Retirement). Coordinate two $1,000 scholarships for RDHS seniors who graduated from OPS. Also, provide staff and faculty with small appreciation “treats” throughout school year to celebrate certain holidays.
GRADE LEVEL/ SPECIAL AREA GRANTS – Coordinate and manage the PTA grant program. Serve as a liaison between teachers and the PTA to review, approve, and distribute funds across grade levels and special areas, including Special education.

GROUNDS BEAUTIFICATION – Coordinate seasonal decorations around the school's front entrance,
including steps, doors, and banners.
HEALTH AND SAFETY TRAINING – Coordinate a training session for 6 th grade students led by a certified EMT/First Aid/CPR Instructor. Typically held on a Saturday in March.

HOLIDAY BOUTIQUE – Organize and oversee the school-wide Holiday Boutique.

HOSPITALITY – Coordinate and provide refreshments at all PTA meetings and for the Crossing Guard/lunch aide/custodian breakfast in June.
ICE CREAM LUNCH – Coordinate with the ice cream vendor; sort ice cream orders by grade/class upon
delivery and oversee distribution of ice cream to students for monthly ice cream lunches and special school events (i.e. Field Day and LEAD graduation). Excel proficiency recommended to sort/organize orders.
KINDERGARTEN BOOK CLUB – Kindergarten Parents; Plan and lead 3 book club sessions per year
(fall, winter, spring). Each session is held after school from 3-4 pm and includes a read-aloud (a book or two), followed by a related craft or activity.
KINDERGARTEN & NEW FAMILY MENTORING – Coordinate a late-August playground meet-up for incoming families before school begins. Create a flyer for families to attend on the day of the kindergarten tour of the school. Provide snacks and match prospective families with volunteer mentors. Monitor email throughout the year to match any new families with mentors.
LEGISLATIVE – Coordinate a Candidates night in the fall during contested BOE elections. If an election is not contested, collect bios and coordination communication in PTA blasts. Organize mock elections for the students during presidential election years.
MEMBERSHIP & DIRECTORY – Operating under the Technology Committee the Membership and Directory team manages online PTA memberships and the student directory. Responsibilities include maintaining records, submitting PTA dues, updating directory information and serving as the primary point of contact for members.
MEMORY BOOK – Oversee the design, creation and publication of the annual Memory book.
PIZZA LUNCH – Coordinate, order, and oversee weekly distribution of pizza to students. Must be
available in-person at Pizza lunch every Wednesday from 10:30am-1pm.
PLANT SALE – Coordinate three seasonal plant sales (fall, winter and spring), including vendor
selection, and delivery coordination.
READ AND RAP BOOK CLUB (2nd & 3rd Grade) – 2nd and 3rd grade parents; Plan and lead 3 book club
sessions per year (fall, winter, spring). Each session is held after school from 3-4 and includes a read-aloud (one or two books), followed by a related craft or activity.
REFLECTIONS – Coordinate the Reflections Art contest; Oversee submissions and organize awards, which are presented at the final PTA meeting in June.
SCHOOL SUPPLIES – Coordinate and assist with the distribution of school supplies.
SCIENCE FUN – Plan, coordinate, and facilitate the annual STEAM Fair, including recruiting judges, securing awards, and arranging light refreshments for judges. Typically held in February.
SPECIAL EVENTS – Plan and execute community-based fundraising events, including Winter Wonderland in December. Help organize additional fundraisers such as Wizards game (held biennially), and ‘OPS Goes to the Movies’ and coordinate a school- or parent-wide spring fundraising event.
SPIRIT WEAR – Coordinate the sale of OPS clothing and accessories with the vendor throughout
the year, typically across three sales.
STUDENT PROGRAMMING – Coordinate educational programs that support the arts, including a fall
Jack-o-lantern event where a fire truck ride with the Oradell Fire Department is arranged for the contest winner. Identify additional Student Programming opportunities throughout the year.

TEACHER APPRECIATION – Plan and host the Welcome Back teacher/staff breakfast (held the day
before school starts), and the luncheon held in May.

TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE - Supports the PTA by managing and streamlining all technology needs. This includes creating forms, managing the OPS PTA website, assisting with social media marketing, and maintaining the OPS PTA Membership Directory.
UPPER GRADES BOOK CLUB (Grade 4-6) – 4th-6th grade parents; Plan and lead 2 book club sessions per year (late fall/early winter and spring). Each session is held after school from 3-4 pm. Select a book for students to read in advance, lead a discussion, and plan a related craft or activity to reinforce the theme.
